Last night, I walked with two new friends around a local lake. It was my first Meetup activity and I had a great time. Good conversation, laughter and an awesome workout. It was a beautiful evening and the weather was ideal!
We walked the 6+ miles in an hour and 40 minutes--we were truckin' it. By the time we got back to the parking lot, my legs were already beginning to hurt and by the time I got home, every muscle in body was complaining. I was dreading today.
However, I feel pretty good this morning. I am not as sore as I thought I'd be. It may hit me harder tomorrow.
I have a few other local lake walks I want to try, but I plan to continue my Tuesday night lake walk with the girls and add the others.
Tonight, I should get on the treadmill for a 30 minute workout--keep my muscles moving and do some stretching afterwards.
Keeping it real here...what's new with you?

That's almost 16 minutes per mile! good job! Have you considered doing any mountain hiking, or do you think you'll be doing just lakes for a while?
It's always nice to have a walking partner to make the time go by faster.
Thanks, Cammie! I am getting back into condition and have some weight to lose, but I'd love to do some light mountain climbing (is their such a thing?)eventually. I have to really work on my conditioning and weight loss first before I attempt a greater challenge. Headed to your blog!
All that lake hiking sounds like it's a fun and easy way to get in some more exercise. (If not fun, then more fun than doing the treadmill for hours!) I just came across your blog because we have a few shared interests. I sure don't have much to post yet. I'm with you though, the mountains can wait! Take some pictures of the next lake you do :)
I meant to take some pics when I was there, will have to remember to this week! :)
